Payal is the founder of The Charcoal Room, a Home Décor Consultation and Styling firm based in Mumbai since 2008. Research, play of material and extremely refined design sensibility defines her style. Her aim is to tastefully transform every site into a balanced environment, keeping three factors in mind: harmony, beauty and justice. Her magnetic nature and radiant persona reflect in her design and work ethic, leaving a timeless impression.

There is a quote by Elsie De Wolfe that stayed with me from my early childhood – “I am going to make everything around me beautiful and that will be my life ” At the time, I didn’t know how impactful this would be for me, but I sure see it now. The home can be every child’s most loved space.

My love for home decor began there, and I have been on the same path ever since. Beauty as an archetype is something everyone relates to, but true beauty can be experienced only when you live beautifully. This has been my source of inspiration behind every project.
